Tour of Montenegro - Montenegro as a cycling paradise

The international road cycling race "Tour of Montenegro 2019" will run from September 13 to 15.

According to the plan of the organizers, the Cycling Association of Montenegro, in the first two days the Kotor-Lovćen Grand Prix will be held, which will also be the championship of Montenegro, and on the last day of the Tour, on Sunday, September 15, the traditional 3rd "Trophy Kuči 2019" will be held. .

The opening ceremony of "Tour of Montenegro 2019" is on September 13 in front of the Main City Gate in Kotor from 14 p.m., and the organizers expect over 100 cyclists from European countries.

- On the first day of competition at the Kotor - Lovćen grand prix and the Montenegrin national championship, for seniors, juniors, juniors and masters in men's and women's competition, from 16 p.m. there will be a 22-kilometer individual time trial on the route Kotor - Trojica - Krstac. On the second day of the grand prix, September 14, in the Industrial Zone of Kotor from 12 o'clock there will be a circular race - 30 laps with a total length of 100,5 kilometers. On the same track, two hours earlier, the road championship of Montenegro will start, in men's and women's competition, in the categories of seniors, junior seniors, juniors, masters, cadets, junior cadets and pioneers - explained Siniša Milidrag, director of the "Tour of Montenegro 2019" race. .

The organizer accepted applications from England, France, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania... 12 teams with 70 cyclists applied, and the organizer also received individual applications.

- The favorites are the British "TBW23 Stuart Hall Cycling Team", the Slovenian "Kolesarski klub Bled" and "Kolesarski klub Kranj"... Montenegro has two teams, the national team of Montenegro and the team of two Montenegrin cycling clubs, "Mix Team Džada - MFR Tempo ". In the individual performance, the favorites are Dušan Rajović from Serbia, who will drive for the French club Delko from next season, as well as last year's Kuča Trophy winner, Macedonian Andrej Petrovski, and we should not ignore the fact that two Slovenian national team members will also drive. In our teams, the most is expected from representatives Danilo Vukčević and Demir Mulić, who will have the support of their colleagues Radosav Bezmarević, Dragan Jašović, Slobodan Milonjić and Miloš Vračar - said Milidrag.

The international race closes with the traditional Kuča Trophy - "Trophy Kuči 2019".

The opening of the race is at 10 a.m., and the start an hour later, from the vineyard "Plantaža 13. juli" to Kučka Korita in a length of 108 kilometers.

- The primary goals of the international cycling event are the promotion of Montenegrin sport and its potential to athletes from fifteen European countries, as well as the promotion of cycling in Montenegro.
