Slobodanka Gurešić, the bronze medalist from the European University Games in Zagreb, won first place today in Podgorica at the Montenegrin table tennis championship for people with disabilities.
Gurešić celebrated in the 3-5 category, ahead of Samra Kojić.
Marijana Goranović was the best in the 6-8 category, while Đurđina Jeremić won second place.
In the men's competition, in category 3-5, Ambroz Nikač won, ahead of Nedžad Pepić and Aleksandar Denčić, while Đuro Krivokapić won in class 6.
Slobodan Mihailović finished second, while Dejan Tmusić was third.
In the 7-8 category, the best was Miljan Cerović, the second place was won by Uroš Gugolj, and the third by Pjetro Paljušević.
Member of the bronze team from the EP in Helsingborg, Dejan Bašanović won in the combined categories 8 and 10.
"I am glad that the championship is getting better and better every year. Competitors who train regularly showed their quality at the championship. There were a lot of uncertain matches. I am also happy that Luča members participate in international tournaments in the region and confirm their quality there," he said. Bašanović, director of the table tennis club for people with disabilities in Luča.
The championship gathered 20 competitors.
Coach Čedomir Damjanović said that quality table tennis was shown at the sixth individual championship.
"I am very proud of that. Montenegrin para table tennis is on an upward trajectory. This year was historic for Montenegrin para table tennis, two European medals were won - one each in singles and team. The silver was Filip Radović, who with Luka Bakić and Dejan Bašanović was bronze as a team," said Damjanović.
The organizer was the table tennis club for persons with disabilities Luča, with the patronage of the Paralympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
