Within the section of the Kendo club Budućnost, the first training in fencing, one of the oldest Olympic sports, was held in Podgorica on Saturday.
It is, as stated in the announcement of Kendo Club Budućnost, the product of years of work and improvement by Dejan Đurašković, which was rounded off by obtaining a coaching license issued by the Fencing Association of Serbia.
Most of the athletes at the first training are members of the kendo club, but the idea is that the section will soon grow into a fencing club, so that this Olympic sport can spread to other Montenegrin cities as quickly as possible.
Fencing has been part of the Olympic family since the first Olympic Games of the modern era - in 1896.
This sport has three disciplines - sword, foil and sabre.
Competitors are dressed in white with protective masks on their heads and weapons in their hands.
