He pointed out that the affirmation and popularization of bicyclism, massification, creation of an expert base, work with young people, establishment of competition and league systems, performances of the national team, investment in the most promising sports should be the focus of the savaza's work.

He emphasized that they have set an ambitious plan and that already in March, after the winter preparations, the Montenegrin national team members are expecting their first races abroad.

"In April, we will organize educational seminars for the missing professions - referees, coaches, mechanics. In May, the leagues will start, which this year, in addition to road and mountain biking, we have extended to the downhill discipline, as well as the Montenegrin championships in all three disciplines. The central place in the calendar is occupied by the Tour of Montenegro, from October 2 to 4, within which the Balkan Championship will also be held," said Popović.

The Director of the Directorate for Sports in the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Miloš Lalević, said that thanks to the enthusiasm of clubs and cyclists, cycling is getting back on track.

"The Government and the Ministry increased, that is, strengthened, the budget of the national sports federations, by allocating over four and a half million EUR for sports. This is the best way to confirm that sport is high on the Government's agenda. This year we have a record number of scholarship recipients - 276, and especially we is glad that there are cyclists among them," said Lalević.

The best Montenegrin cyclist, Danilo Vukčević, emphasized that hard work and training gave results.

"I never dreamed that I would be in this position to be the best cyclist in Montenegro. Thanks to the good work of the new association, everything fell into place. The leadership of the association, with its dedicated work, returned cycling to its rightful place. I hope that 2020 will be even better. The plans have been set, I hope we will justify the trust shown," Vukčević said.

As a sign of gratitude for their contribution to the affirmation of cycling, the association awarded the Sports and Youth Ministry, the Marko Miljanov Kuča Development Fund and the Aerodromi Crne Gore company.
