The training camp of Omladinc from Podgorica gathered fighters from the region and served as a good test and preparation for the Balkan Championship in Belgrade and the European Championship in Baku, said the coach of that club, Žarko Raković.

He reminded that this is the second Youth camp this year and that, if the dates are agreed upon, they plan to organize another one before the European senior championship.

Raković said that the three-day camp brought together ten fighters from Croatia, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo.

"These are all senior representatives of their countries, true professionals, guys who are among the top ten in the World Ranking. A good opportunity for us to spar, and for them to train with medal winners from European and world championships. We subordinated everything to the best possible preparation for the European Championship", Raković said.

He pointed out that the camps proved to be a good solution and that it will be practice for the Omladinac karate club in the future ahead of major competitions.

"I am very satisfied with the attitude of the guests towards training and the matches shown. They fit in perfectly, they are real fighters, with whom there is no retreat. They were terrible matches", Raković said.

He pointed out that the construction of the new hall proved to be justified.

"This allowed us to improve working conditions, take a step further, strengthen training and preparation of athletes. Our camps are free, our goal is not to make money, but to improve our work and travel to the championship as ready as possible", said Raković.

He thanked the Secretariat for Sports of the capital for multiplying the additional dates for training at the Morača Sports Center.

Enes Garibović, bronze medalist from last year's European Championship, said that he likes the karate style practiced in Omladinac.

"It is a club that has top competitors and a top coach, excellent conditions. That was the motive for me to come to the camp, where I was convinced that the training was excellent. I am satisfied with the completed camp, the work and commitment of all of us in training. The arrival turned out to be a great success," said Garibović.

He pointed out that various types of training were conducted, many situations from fights and sparring.

"I believe that it will help me for the next period. I expect a medal at the European Championships, I'm going for gold, but I'm not thinking about expectations but about the quality of the performance. If I do well in the matches, the medal will come," said Garibović.

Albanian fighter Bekim Baša said that he knows what training is like in Omladinac, recalling that he trained in that club for four years.

"Every year I improved, I significantly improved my performance, technique and tactics, psychological approach to the match. It helped me a lot in the tactical and technical preparation of the match, how to fight and deal with fighters from different national teams. I believe in myself and with God's help we expect the best", said Baša.

The best fighters of the region are waiting for the senior Balkan Championship in Belgrade this weekend, while at the end of March they will compete in the European Championship in Baku.
