More than 100 sports clubs applied for the public call for co-financing of membership fees for children who train in sports clubs, said Minister of Sports and Youth Nikola Janović, stating that 3.138 children will be co-financed in the initial phase.
He said that he was pleased by the fact that sports clubs showed great interest.
"I am pleased to point out that by the deadline, over 100 sports clubs have contacted the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and as many as 3.138 children will be co-financed in this initial phase," Janović pointed out.
He added that the huge number of children registered for the Ministry represents additional motivation and an even clearer vision to start from that number and expand it even more.
As Janović stated, Montenegro is the only country in the region that had such an initiative.
"I am firmly convinced that every parent has the right to believe that their child can become a champion, and the Ministry of Sports and Youth will always be there to help him along the way," said Janović.
The Ministry appealed to parents to include as many children as possible in sports.
The Ministry of Sport and Youth announced a public call for co-financing of membership fees for children engaged in sports activities within sports clubs at the beginning of June. The Ministry will finance up to 70 percent of the membership fees for children born in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, who train in sports clubs.
