His name is Edgar Berlanga, he is 23 years old, and when a boxing mag like Bob Arum says that "he hasn't seen a bigger knockout than Mike Tyson in his younger days", then I guess it is clear what kind of fighter he is talking about.
Berlanga is truly a prodigy in the ring - winning all 16 of his super middleweight bouts - by first-round knockout.
And he didn't fight somewhere on the outskirts, but in the MGM Arena and Madison Square Garden, in shows organized by Arum's "Top Rank".
"I was completely shocked when I saw the incredible power of the punches," said Bob Arum.
Berlanga is American, but originally from Puerto Rico, a country that has produced numerous boxing champions.
"The secret is simple - hard work and nothing else. Discipline, dedication too," he said, adding:
"I had a powerful punch, but I didn't know how to use it as an amateur. I didn't have that killer instinct that I have now. Now I'm older and I have a different mindset. Now I'm a monster and a killer. I've learned to live with it, and all great fighters they had it in them," said Berlanga.
