British boxer Anthony Joshua said that he is nearing the end of his career and estimated that he has at most five years left before he retires.

Since his professional debut in 2013, Joshua is a two-time heavyweight world champion, and in 2019 he won the WBA, IBF and WBO titles in a rematch against Andy Ruiz.

He recently defended them with a knockout against Kubrat Pulev.

"This is not the beginning of my career, I am nearing the end. I am not someone who lives in the moment and thinks that everything will be as it is now. I always plan ahead and go towards the end of my career. There are still five years left, it is practically an Olympic cycle." Joshua said.

"I have an Olympic cycle and a little more, so when you see the next Olympic Games, then I will be nearing the end of my career and the next generation will come on the scene," added the 31-year-old boxer.

A big fight between Joshua and Tyson Fury is expected this year.

"Fury has been a pro longer than me. He should retire soon. If he wants to cement his legacy, I'm here and I'm ready. I've built myself into this position," Joshua said.
