Recognizing and adequately evaluating the outstanding results of Montenegrin athletes sends an affirmative message to all young people hoping to persevere on their path to success, said the Director of the Sports and Youth Administration, Vasilije Lalošević.
Today, he hosted the best Montenegrin athlete for last year, chosen by the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Drasko Brguljan.
"Continuous work, effort and dedication are the key characteristics of sports greats, and our task is to be their unreserved support in this," said Lalošević.
He informed Brguljan that it was the former Ministry of Sports and Youth, and now the Directorate for Sports and Youth, that, through the new Law on Sports, made it possible for the best athlete of the year to be financially rewarded.
Last year, Brguljan won a bronze medal with the Montenegrin water polo team at the European Championship in Budapest.
The captain of the Montenegrin national team was part of the championship team from Malaga, silver teams from the continental championships from Eindhoven and Belgrade and the World Championship in Barcelona.
