After three titles of European champion and the best junior and youth boxer on the Old Continent, Bojana Gojković was stopped on her debut at the world championships.
Stopped, because she certainly did not lose as shown in the ring of the World Youth Championship in Kielce, Poland. Although she dominated against the domestic boxer Julia Šeremeta, the judges voted 3:2 in favor of the domestic contestant, much to the surprise of the commentators on the official AIBA channel.
The best young boxer in Europe even lost the most dominant, second round in which she was twice close to making the referee count the Polish woman.
In the end, the Bulgarian Marija Kavakljeva and the Armenian Vardan Bagdasarjan gave the advantage to Gojković, while the Jordanian Juns Nabel, the Mongolian Ganbold Badrak gave a minimal advantage to the local boxing, and the Latvian Leonids Haneliks as high as 30:27.
Only, although it was visible on the faces of the boxers who really won the match, Sheremeta will advance to the quarterfinals of the category up to 57 kilograms.
In Kielce, the official European champion up to 81 kilograms, Petar Liješević, will fight from the Montenegrin national team on April 16 against a rival from Kyrgyzstan, while a day later Nina Radenović will compete in the ring category up to 64 kilograms against the representative of Romania.
