In the first round of the Regional Boxing League in Sarajevo, Željeznicar boxers beat BK Podgorica last night with a score of 14:6.
Podgorica did not have boxers in the 56kg and 69kg categories, so the hosts already had 4:0 at the start, which significantly eased their way to victory.
Also, Nikola Lazarević in the category up to 64 kg and Stefan Savković (75 kg) showed much more desire than boxers from Željezničar, but the judges awarded the victory to the host.
That, in the end, decided that Podgorica did not draw at least a draw.
In the light heavyweight category, Milovan Sekulović offered strong resistance, but was not ready enough to win, while in the heavyweight category, Milorad Purić completely blocked the attacks of Džemal Bošnjak, but did not do enough to win.
In the end, in the super heavyweight category, in his third match in his career, Dimitrije Milić almost surprised the more experienced Sanel Hasanović, throwing him to the floor, but Hasanović, thanks to his experience, got up and hit Milić hard, so our boxer's coach did not want to risk it and gave up fighting.
Except for Lazarevic, this was the first boxing competition for all the competitors. they all boxed with much more experienced opponents and made a great impression.
In June, BK Podgorica will host BK Vardar from Skopje, and until then the competitors will have the opportunity to prepare even better.
As they point out from Podgorica, it is certain that this team will undergo certain changes in some categories. They note that the impressions from Sarajevo are positive, but they also emphasize the pretentious judging, which could ruin this great project of the regional boxing league.
