Lalošević: The successes of Petr Liješević are a strong motive for the state to continue investing in the best athletes

Director of the Directorate for Sports and Youth, Vasilije Lalošević, hosted the world vice-champion in youth boxing, Petar Liješević, who recently won a silver medal at the World Championship in this discipline in Kjelce.

"We are extremely proud of the fact that Petar Liješević presented Montenegro at the World Youth Boxing Championship in the best light - with top boxing, nobility and the best results. Montenegro and the Sports Administration believe in our young hopefuls and talented athletes, which we proved by awarding a scholarship to Petr Liješević, who has the status of a promising athlete. This obliges our Management to make additional and long-term investments in his sports career. That's why the Administration for Sports and Youth will grant Petr Liješević a scholarship for another year," said Lalošević, the Administration for Sports and Youth announced.

"When it comes to boxing as an individual sport and chivalrous martial art, our athletes have achieved incredible results and victories so far. That's why we will fight for Montenegrin boxers to have even better conditions for the development and popularization of this sport in the future," added Lalošević.

Vice-champion in youth boxing, Petar Liješević, thanked the director of the Sports and Youth Administration for the "dedicated and continuous relationship of support for young boxers and the Boxing Association of Montenegro in general."

"The support of the Government of Montenegro and the Administration for Sports and Youth is very important to me because it speaks of the partnership between the state and athletes. Such support is also responsible for our success. I will use the opportunity to thank the Director of the Administration Lalošević for today's hospitality and work so far," said Liješević.

The meeting was also attended by the president of the Boxing Association of Montenegro, Aleksandar Klemenko, and Davor Dokić, president of the "Budva" boxing club.

The Directorate for Sports and Youth provides scholarships to the best young athletes, including young boxing hopefuls and champions such as Bojana Gojković, Nina Radenović, Miloš Krasnići, Petr Liješević and others.
