The Montenegrin team at the Olympic Games has one more member - discus thrower Danijel Furtula is going to Tokyo.

The Montenegrin Olympic Committee confirmed that the World Athletics Federation announced that Furtula is an official participant of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The norm for going to the Games was 66 meters - Furtula did not meet the norm, but in April, at the 25th international athletics meeting Trophy of Montenegro, he threw the discus 65 meters and 59 centimeters and set a new Montenegrin record and achieved a result, which is enough for place in Tokyo. He is one of the athletes who won a visa for the Olympic Games on the basis of results, not norms.

Furtula won the gold medal at the Balkaniad in Smederevo the previous weekend.

In Smederevo, it is the norm for the Olympic Games also won by Marija Vuković.

The Olympic Games are scheduled from July 23 to August 8.
