The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Aleksa Bečić, met with Đuro Marić, the President of the Water Polo Association of Montenegro, Vladimir Gojković, the selector of the national team, and Mirza Krcić, the President of the Assembly of the Water Polo Association.
Bečić, as announced by the Assembly, once again sent congratulations on winning the gold medal in the World League, as well as on qualifying for the Olympic Games.
"With honesty among yourselves and love for your country, you have built a winning team spirit, and I am convinced that this is the reason for your continued success," said Bečić.
The President of the Assembly expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Montenegrin water polo team will play for the fourth time at the world's largest sports event, as well as the expectation that this time they will once again make the whole of Montenegro proud with a historic Olympic medal.
The representatives of the Water Polo Association, as it was announced, informed Bečić about the infrastructural challenges in the work, stressing that with the help of the state and through sustainable sources of funding, water polo clubs should work on strengthening their capacities, both for adequate treatment of seniors and top athletes as the best ambassadors - and for development of younger selections that represent the future.
Bečić wished Gojković a successful journey and a good placement at the Olympic Games, emphasizing that there is excellent chemistry in the national team and the homogeneity of the team, and that all of this is the result of Gojković's masterful leadership, noting that he will be proud to follow the game of the Montenegrin "golden sharks".
Gojković presented Bečić with a ball with the signatures of all the players of the water polo national team of Montenegro.
