Gojković: We didn't use good chances, we had to play faster

Vladimir Gojković was not, it seems, too disappointed after Montenegro lost to Spain (8:6) in the 2nd round of the water polo tournament in Tokyo.

The "Sharks" were an equal rival to one of the favorites for the gold, which was better than Serbia at the start, but the level of attack, realization from good actions and positions, was not at the level required for the super-strong "fury".

"We had some bad moments, but we didn't use the good chances in the first two quarters, there were some turnovers... We had the opportunity to keep the match under control, but we had two or three goals down. We showed energy and the ability to come back, it wasn't enough. The Spaniards are an excellent team, they shut down Ivović quickly, we have to improve our attack, we had to play faster," said Gojković.

The Montenegrin water polo players chased the result both against Australia and Spain - in the first duel, they reversed, and the Spaniards are too good to allow a reversal just like that.

"You can see that the boys believe that we can deal with everyone, that they play even when they lose by one, and when they lose by three points, but in the future we should have an advantage in the middle of the match," said Gojković.
