Montenegrin water polo players finished in eighth place at the Olympic Games, in the end they were defeated by Italy - the "azuri" celebrated after five-pointers 18:17 (regular part - 14:14).
"A lot of goals, an interesting game, 14:14. Probably because there was no pressure from either side. A lot of defenses were soft, although both teams wanted to win," said Aleksandar Ivović and added:
"We stole the ball in the last attack, we got to the penalty area and I'm sorry that we didn't end the tournament with a victory," said the scorer of six goals in this morning's match.
Selector Vladimir Gojković praised the approach of the "sharks".
"You could see that the approach was good, we didn't give goals from the created chances again. In the end, we luckily reached the top five... It is important to have tried at this moment, it would have been good if we had won in the end, but when everything is added up - it is clear that we are not satisfied with the results in Tokyo," said Gojković.
