The Mayor of the Capital City of Cetinje, Aleksandar Kašćelan, organized a reception for Montenegrin athlete Marija Vuković, who won 9th place at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Kašćelan presented the Montenegrin athlete with a cash prize worth five thousand euros and congratulated her on her excellent performance at this prestigious competition.
"It was a pleasure to watch you in Tokyo, not only because of the importance of the competition in which you participated, but also because of the way you represented your country and the emotions you shared with us, because of Cetinje, which is yours, and that manner of ours, which you brought with you into the world, so that everything is honest, pure and from the heart," said Kašćelan and added:
"Your professional success is greater than the results on the table, which, after all, is shown by the invitation to participate in the Diamond League, but also by the fact that this achievement is measured by a strong motive among numerous girls and boys from Montenegro who, after your performance at the Olympic Games wished to be like you", stated Kašćelan.
Vuković thanked the mayor for the reception and support.
"Cetinje is my city, the place where I grew up, where my friends and family are. I hope it will be an occasion for new meetings and celebrations. The next Olympic Games are already in three years and I hope it will be even better in Paris." she stated. He is looking forward to participating in the Diamond League.
"It's my first Diamond League and I hope to give my best. Maybe it will be better than at the Olympic Games, but let me not say anything in advance," said Marija Vuković.
