Marković is ninth overall

Ilija Marković, the representative of Montenegro in sailing, is currently in ninth place in the general ranking after three qualifying days at the World Championship in Olympic classes, under 21, in the Polish city of Gdina.

Thus, after sailing six regattas, Marković continues the next three days of final sailing in the gold group in class ILCA 7 (Laser Standard).

Marković, a great talent from Montenegro, Delfina sailor from Tivat, celebrated at the first regatta in Poland, then had a bad regatta, took 50th place, but did not lose heart, on the contrary. He determined the remaining four regattas excellently. He was 15th, sixth, 11th and ninth, so he is currently in ninth place in the general ranking, i.e. in the gold group. There is no rest or time to celebrate, the first two out of a total of six regattas in the gold group are on the program from August 25 to 27.

In front of Ilija Marković, when it comes to the region, there is Bruno Gašpić from the club Mornar from Split, who took third, three sixth, seventh and 19th places, so he is in fifth place in the general ranking ahead of the fight for medals. Placement in the gold group was won by Nikola Banjac from Serbia and Božidar Golubić from Croatia. At the moment, the first place is held by Zachary Littlewood from Australia, the second is Jigit Jalci Citak from Turkey, and the third is Aleksandre Kovalski from France.
