Montenegrin kickboxer Miroslav Vujović won the silver medal at the World Cup in Budapest, while Tarik Raščić won the bronze medal.
In the final match of the K1 discipline, in the over 91 kilogram category, Vujović narrowly lost by points to the world vice-champion, Michal Blažović from Poland.
Vujović defeated the Ukrainian world champion Roman Holovatuk in the quarter-finals, while in the semi-finals he defeated the excellent fighter Robert Docado from Poland.
Raščić won the medal in the kick light discipline. Lazar Klikovac ended his performance in the quarterfinals, losing to Ukrainian Vladislav Turmenko.
Selector Goran Radonjić said that the Montenegrin kick boxers showed excellent form before the World Senior Championship, which will be held in Italy next month.
"I would especially like to praise the great performance of Miroslav Vujović, who had three difficult matches. He defeated the world champion, which speaks volumes about his current form and performance. He was a little short of winning the gold, but the most important thing is that his form is timed for the upcoming World Championship ", Radonjic said.
He pointed out that young Lazar Klikovac also put up good resistance and confirmed his potential.
"We are seriously counting on him in the coming period," said Radonjić.
The World Cup in Budapest gathered more than 3.200 competitors
