Montenegrin kick-boxer Miroslav Vujović made it to the semi-finals of the World Championship, which is being held in Lido di Jesolo (Italy), as he won the quarter-final match of the super-heavyweight category K1, against Pirko Suksi from Finland, by stoppage in the first round.
In the round of XNUMX, Vujović won against Hasan Eripak from Turkey, also by stoppage.
His rival for going to the final tomorrow will be Ante Širić from Croatia.
That he is in great shape, Vujović confirmed exactly one month ago in Budapest, when he beat the world champion, Ukrainian Roman Holovatuk, at the World Cup.
Another Montenegrin representative, Remzija Dacić, was defeated by Ukrainian Sviatoslav Hašiuk 75:3 in the quarter-finals of the low kick category up to 0 kilograms.
At the end of the first round, Dacić received an illegal blow from his opponent, which greatly influenced the further outcome of the match. At the championship in Lido di Jesolo, he registered one triumph, at the start against the Canadian Jeff Brake.
Selector Goran Radonjić points out that an excellent result was achieved.
"Vujović justified his role as the favorite and dominantly reached the victory, with another break in the championship. He was even better than in the final. We hope that he will be at the desired level tomorrow in the semi-finals as well. He is expected by a very strong and difficult opponent from Croatia, but we believe in the quality and form of our competitor".
"Dacic lost to a very good fighter from Ukraine. In the first round, he received a strong and irregular blow that disturbed him. Before this competition, he was without amateur matches for a long time, which affected his current form. However, I am very satisfied with his performance at championship." concluded Radonjić.
