At the XXXIV Congress of the World Triathlon Federation, the Triathlon Federation of Montenegro became a full member of this organization, with 73 out of 74 votes, the Federation announced.
The founding assembly of the Triathlon Association of Montenegro was held on September 16, 2021 in Cetinje, when the basic documents were adopted and the leadership was elected.
Already on October 14, 2021, the Association received a decision on registration in the register of the Administration for Sports and Youth, and only 10 days later, on October 24, 2021, it became a member of the World Triathlon Federation.
"Such a quick admission to the World Triathlon Federation represents a great success of the Triathlon Union of Montenegro, and for all of us who constantly push the limits through this sport, the realization of a dream and a strong incentive to continue it, but now also through European and international competitions to properly represent Montenegro. Also, this opens up huge opportunities for us in the education of coaches, delegates and judges according to international standards, and we hope for a quick perspective and the participation of our judges and delegates in competitions", said Vedran Roćenović, president of the Triathlon Federation of Montenegro.
The Triathlon Federation of Montenegro expressed its gratitude to the competent institutions in Montenegro, the Sports Administration and the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (COK), for their support in the efforts of the Federation to complete the necessary documentation for admission to this international organization.
"Triathlon as a sport has been present in Montenegro for a decade, with a dynamic growth tendency, and in the last two months alone, clubs have organized a number of successful competitions in Perast, Kotor, Budva and Žabljak, while Montenegrin competitors have already recorded notable individual results in various competitions ", they conclude in the announcement of the Alliance.
