Miroslav Vujović is the best kickboxer of Montenegro in 2021, as chosen by the Kickboxing Association.
Vujović won the bronze medal at the World Championship and the silver medal at the World Cup in the last year.
The award for the best cadet went to Nemanja Radnjić, European vice-champion in the kick light discipline.
The best junior is Miloš Mugoša, European champion in low kick and Balkan champion in K1.
The president of the Kickboxing Association, Ivan Strugar, said that 2021 was a special year for Montenegrin kickboxers.
"We won one world senior medal and seven European junior medals. We had successful performances at the World Cup as well as the Balkan Championship. Our fighters were in competition for the best athletes of Montenegro. What certainly stands out is the organization of the European Championship for cadets and juniors in Budva," said Strugar.
He said that the Kickboxing Association proved to be a good host and thus became one of the candidates for the organization of major competitions in some of the following years.
Strugar announced that 2022 will be challenging for Montenegrin kickboxing.
"The European Championship for seniors in Turkey, the World Championship for cadets and juniors in Ireland, the World Games in the USA, the Mediterranean Games and the Balkan Championship await us. There will also be a lot of domestic competitions, and in February we will organize the Mirko Vlahović memorial tournament in memory of our celebrated athlete. We hope for another successful year," said Strugar.
