The best Montenegrin athlete, Marija Vuković, had a great start to the indoor season.
Montenegrin Olympian in the high jump, today in Hustopech, Czech Republic, in the SPOZAM hall, achieved a career record in the hall.
Vuković jumped 195 centimeters, which is two centimeters below her outdoor record (197 cm).
It is also the best result in the world at the moment - the same height was jumped today by the British Emily Bortwick, who won the first place at the meeting, due to a smaller number of attempts.
Bortvik jumped 195 from the first attempt, Marija from the second, and the Ukrainian Jaroslava Mahuchki (bronze at the Olympic Games in Tokyo) and her compatriot Irina Gerashenko stopped at only 192 centimeters.
At 198 centimeters, both Marija and Emili fell, so the British woman's lower attempt brought first place.
The previous indoor record of Marija Vuković was 193 centimeters in the indoor hall in Belgrade exactly one year ago.
The World Indoor Championships are held in Belgrade in March.
