The men's national team of Sweden won today the gold medal in curling at the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing after beating Great Britain 5:4 in the final.
Niklas Edin thus won the only major title that was missing in his career. He lost in the final four years ago in PyeongChang, and today he led Sweden to its first Olympic gold.
The Swedes were fourth in 2010, third in 2014, second four years ago, but this time they finally reached the first step of the podium after 11 rounds, or "extra-end".
The bronze medal was won yesterday by the Canadian team, which won the match for third place against the USA with 8:5.
