Montenegrin karate representative Nikola Malović will participate in the prestigious Top Ten tournament, which will be held on March 25 in Sarajevo.
The organizer announced that Sarajevo will host the unique and strongest karate event in Europe, in absolute competition.
The tournament will gather medalists from the world and European championships, participants of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The contestants will be divided into two groups of five, from which the most successful will win the finals. In addition to the member of Onogošt from Nikšić, Hungarians Gabor Karolji Horspataki and Iveš Martial Tadiši, Macedonian Emil Pavlov, local fighter Riad Džuho, Italian Mikele Martina, Asiman Gurbanli from Azerbaijan, Erman Eltemur from Turkey, Croatians Enes Garibović and Anđelo Kvesić and Bogdan Trikoš from Serbia.
Malović said that he expects a great tournament and that he is happy that he will have the opportunity to fight with the best.
"It's definitely about the best fighters in Europe. It's in the absolute category and it will be a new experience for me. I expect good matches, the organization is great and it will be a spectacle. I'm preparing as best I can at this moment," Malović told the MINA agency.
He said that he is training in his home club - Onogošt, as well as that he is doing part of his preparations in Omladinac.
"I am satisfied with my current form, and I expect to be ready for the competition," said Malović.
He has two European medals in his career - bronze from Guadalajara in 2019 and silver with the men's team in the battles last year in Poreč.
