From March 18 to 20, Belgrade will host the 19th World Indoor Athletics Championship, and Montenegrin athletics will be represented by Marija Vuković, the Athletics Association announced.
According to preliminary reports, the championship will gather 1.450 athletes with the fulfilled norm from 160 countries of the world.
It was announced that more than 850 journalists have been accredited so far, and live broadcasts from the World Cup will be broadcast in over 100 countries.
According to the schedule, Vuković will perform in the high jump on March 19 at 11 a.m.
12 female athletes will fight for a medal.
Austrian Eleanor Paterson has the best indoor result this year with a jump of 199 centimeters.
Vuković jumped 196 centimeters, and the Ukrainian Jaroslava Mahuchki and Nadezhda Dubovitskaja from Kazakhstan have the same result.
On March 7, the Montenegrin record holder won the traditional indoor athletics meeting in Belgrade with a jump of 190 centimeters.
A few days earlier, Vuković won silver at the Balkan Indoor Championships in Istanbul with the same result.
Last year, she improved her personal and national indoor record twice, and then she opened the new indoor season in an ideal way.
First, she went over 195 centimeters in the Czech Republic, and then in Banjska Bistrica, she jumped a centimeter more and again broke her personal and state record.
