Montenegrin karate player Una Raković won a bronze medal at the Premier League tournament for youth in Limassol.
The Omladinca member won a medal in the competition of female competitors up to 14 years of age, and in the match for third place in the category up to 47 kilograms, she defeated the Italian Greta Gandola.
The fight ended in a draw, but Raković won thanks to the rule of the first point won.
At the start of the tournament, Raković was defeated by the Cypriot Julija Daliti 3:2, who qualified for the final and went to the repechage.
She won the fight for a medal by winning against the Portuguese Katarina Lima 2:0 and the American Charlotte Singleton 7:3.
"In the first round, with a lead of 2:0, a moment of inattention at the very end of the match cost me a lot. I lost the match I had won. Fortunately, she pulled me into the repechage and gave me the opportunity to fight for a medal. I am sorry for the gold, but I will improve in a few months at the World League in Poreč," said Raković to the MINA agency.
Raković won the second medal for Montenegrin karate in Limassol, after her clubmate from Omladinc, Helena Backović, won gold yesterday.
She was the best in the cadet competition, up to 47 kilograms.
