Marko Begović has been appointed as a member of the UNESCO working team, which will be in charge of analyzing the legal and institutional framework in the field of anti-doping, the organization announced.
Begović reminded that during the UNESCO conference COP8, in October last year, it was concluded that it is necessary to strengthen the control mechanism for the implementation of the International Convention against doping in sports.
According to him, it was then agreed to form a working team that will be in charge of analyzing the legal and institutional framework in the field of anti-doping.
"During the meeting in a hybrid format, the UNESCO Bureau chose me as a member of the working team because of the references, but also the results achieved in the process of aligning the Law on Sports with the World Anti-Doping Code, as well as the establishment of a new institutional arrangement in accordance with UNESCO and the Council of Europe convention," he said.
