The municipality of Bar has completed the arrangement of the children's playground with a new teakball court on the promenade of King Nikola. Tackball tables were placed on the playground, so the opening of this playground in cooperation with the Tackball Association of Montenegro was marked by the first takball training in Bar, where this increasingly popular sport in the world was presented.
The President of the Municipality of Bar, Dušan Raičević, said that this city got another place to play, and the opening of the field was also attended by Mornar football players.
"At least he got another place to play. As we announced in the previous months, we launched an initiative to revive neglected urban areas, with the aim of restoring recreational areas and children's parks, in order to offer Bar another added value. The fact that after Pionirski Park, the open gym in the recreational area of Šumica, the playground in Topolica II, tonight on the most attractive part of our coast, on the King Nikola Promenade, we have opened another training ground, where, in addition to the part intended for our youngest fellow citizens, for the first time we are promoting taekbol, as a new game that I'm sure will be played here in Bar. This is also confirmed by the fact that tonight the football players of our football club "Mornar" are with us, showing their skills on the table tennis tables as well," Raičević said.
The President of the Taekbol Federation of Montenegro, Milorad Šutulović, said that Bar, after Podgorica and Bijelo Polje, has become part of the Taekbol sport family, which is "the fastest growing sport in the world since 2017, when the first competitions started."
"I am glad that the Municipality of Bar recognized this and provided table tennis tables for an attractive location, next to the promenade of King Nikola. I believe that athletes and recreationists from Bar and beyond will enjoy this expanded offer. Moreover, after this promotion, it is to be believed that Bar will soon host a taekball tournament", said Šutulović.
Sailor coach Andrija Delibašić, whose players demonstrated this sport game on the new field, invited all Barans and tourists to visit this field and try their hand at the takball game, and that one of their players will always be available to guide them to rules. He said that it is a very expensive piece of equipment and that he believes that those who will use it will also take care of it. Delibasic explained that technical skills, resourcefulness and concentration are the main conditions for mastering this new sport skill.
