The women's volleyball team of Montenegro was defeated at the start of the qualification for the European Championship.
Tonight in Pljevlja, Montenegro lost to Finland 3:1 (23:25, 25:12, 25:14, 26:24)
Our team played the first set very well. Montenegro led from the beginning, then had a four-point advantage (15:11), but the visitors managed to get to 15:14.
Tatjana Bokan's series followed, Montenegro went to 21:16, but even then everything was not resolved. Finland turned it around, taking a 23:22 lead and that was their only lead in the first set. Montenegro tied three points and took the lead in sets.
In the second set, Montenegro "disappeared" from the field. Finland led 6:0, then had 18:8 and convincingly solved that part of the game in their favor - 25:12.
The same picture was seen in the third set - the guests led 10:5, then 16:8 and quickly reached the turning point.
Great uncertainty was seen in the fourth set. Montenegro led 5:0, Finland equalized (10:10), then reversed and led until the very end. The Scandinavian selection led 24:19, but then our selection came back brilliantly in the match and equalized - 24:24. After that, however, Finland took two tied points and won.
Montenegro will play its next match on August 24 against Iceland.
