The Minister of Sports and Youth, Vasilije Lalošević, and the Director of the Sports Directorate, Zoran Jojić, hosted today our young karate champions - Jovana Damjanović, Milena Jovanović and Emra Saljia, on the occasion of their success at the World Championship for cadets, juniors and junior seniors, which took place in Turkey from October 26 to 30.
The meeting was attended by the president of the Karate Association of Montenegro, Predrag Perković, the secretary of the association, Veljko Brnović, as well as Žarko Raković in front of the "Omladinac" karate club.
On this occasion, Lalošević pointed out that "Emre, Jovana and Milena are the pride of Montenegrin karate, and that with their successes they are carving a safe path for all future young karate players in Montenegro, giving them additional motivation and encouragement to continue working hard and training, as could one day be at the top of the world, like these three young people."
"The minister added that, in accordance with the Law on Sports, the young champions have the status of a promising athlete, according to which they will receive a scholarship in the amount of 20% of the average monthly net salary in Montenegro, for winning first place, i.e. 10% of the average monthly net salary for winning third place," the Ministry announced.
