Member of the Podgorica Athletic Club Sparta Željko Dabović and Slađana Pejović from AK Nikšić are the winners of the Portonovi New Year's Run sports and tourism event.
Dabović ran the five-kilometer race under floodlights, in the beautiful surroundings of the Portonovi resort, in 16 minutes and 16 seconds.
The second place was Marko Kavaja from Cetinje Triathlon Club Lovćen (16,46), while the third place was Dragan Jovanović from TK Kotor (19,06).
Pejović, a Montenegrin Olympian and record holder in several running disciplines, triumphed in a time of 18,52 minutes.
She had the third result in the general ranking.
The second place was won by Russian Yekatarina Savkina (19,30), while Andrea Valeska Korać from TK Herceg Novi completed the podium in the women's competition (21,29).
The five-kilometer race brought together 100 competitors, 85 of whom crossed the finish line.
The main event was preceded by a children's race, which gathered more than a hundred participants.
The organizers of the event were Triathlon Club X Herceg Novi and Portonovi Resort.
Director of Marketing and Communications of the Portonovi Resort, Adriana Husić, said that the event gathered hundreds of participants.
"The New Year's race is traditionally held all over the world, and this year for the first time in our country. We organized a race for the youngest, but also for the slightly older ones. The most important thing is that everyone enjoyed themselves, and when it comes to children, everyone was a winner." said Husic.
