Montenegrin karate players will perform at tournaments in Paris and Croatian Samobor this weekend, as part of preparations for the upcoming European championships, the Karate Association announced.
The Paris Open, from Friday to Sunday, will gather more than 600 competitors from 55 countries, including 11 Montenegrin karate players.
National team members Nikola Malović from Onogošte (up to 84 kilograms) and member of Omladinc Milena Jovanović (over 68) will compete.
They will be led by selector Almir Cecunjanin.
Buducnosti coach Biserka Radulović, Filip Bakić and Rijad Mandić are also in Paris, accompanied by coach Tijana Popović.
Vasilisa Bujić (over 68) and katas Vladimir Mijač, Arijan Kočan, Kenan Nikočević and Nikola Milić will compete among Bar karate fighters.
Mijač, Kočan and Nikočević will form the kata team, and will also compete in the individual competition.
Bijela competitor Nemanja Mikulić will fight for medals up to 75 kg.
For the tournament in Samobor, which represents the last test for the European Championship in the competition of cadets, juniors and junior seniors, the performance of 20 competitors is scheduled.
Junior seniors Lazar Jovović (up to 75), Dušan Bjelić (up to 84), Nemanja Jovović (over 84) and Jovana Stojanović (up to 68) will perform. Balša Vojinović (up to 55), Ognjen Bjelajac (up to 61), Andrija Danilović (up to 68), Emre Saljija (up to 76), Helena Backović (up to 48), Anja Nikolić (up to 59), Jovana Ćalić (up to 59) will also compete ) and Lea Marić (up to 66).
Cadets Jusuf Saljiju (up to 52), Nenad Đuričić (up to 63), Anes Arifaj (up to 70), Mihailo Gojaković (over 70), Una Raković (up to 54), Ljubica Vlahović (up to 61), Jovana Damjanović will fight for medals. (up to 61) and Nađa Boričić (over 61).
They will be led by selector Žarko Raković and national team director Miodrag Radunović.
The European Championship for cadets, juniors and junior seniors is on the program from February 3 to 5 in Larnaca.
