The season of absolute dominance in Montenegrin volleyball was crowned by the players of Herceg Novi with the first trophy in the club's history - the Montenegrin Cup.
Led by the former captain of the national team, Tatjana Bokan, Milorad Krunić's team won all 18 matches in the championship, without losing a set.
That's why they were absolute favorites in the Cup final against city rival Albatros, which they justified with a convincing victory in SC "Igalo", with only 33 lost points - 3:0 (25:10, 25:11, 25:12).
"Every good story takes time. This year we literally started from scratch, we met around August 25th and it was not at all easy to play and integrate so many new players, from the side. The entire professional staff is new, from all over the Balkans and Europe. However, we work well and hard and from game to game we justify the role of the absolute favorite. For volleyball, it would be good if the final was a little more interesting, but we tried our best and played to the maximum. You know what finals are like, you always want to win, you don't want to leave anything to chance, and that's why it was a shorter and less uncertain final," Krunic said.
Bokanova was the best with 16 points, eight were won by Darja Čabonjenko, Jelena Stanimirović and Dijana Balai, and six by Anastasija Behterjeva.
No one in the defeated team had more than three (Taša Trajković and Aleksandra Šćekić). It is interesting that the Albatros players won 16 points, while their opponents gave them 17 points due to mistakes.
