Budva volleyball players and Budućnost Volje will play the first game of the Montenegrin championship playoff finals tomorrow at the Mediterranean Sports Center.
The team from Podgorica and Budva will play for the championship cup for the third season in a row. In the previous two years, Budva were more successful, they lost only one match in the 2020/21 season. and for the fourth time in a row he defends the crown.
At the start of the playoffs for the title, Budva and Budućnost will compete for the fourth time this season.
Budva was convincing in the Cup final last Saturday in SC Igalo and defended the trophy with a score of 3:0 (25:17, 25:21, 25:14).
Budva coach Miloš Marković expects an exciting and uncertain final series.
"I am convinced that Budućnost can provide much more than what was shown in the Cup final. I am sure that we are the only ones asking ourselves and that if we are healthy, we manage to keep the focus and energy from Herceg Novi, the trophy intended for the winner will not change its address," said Marković. Buducnost is the only team that has defeated the current champion this season.
In the league part of the championship, Miljan Bošković's team won 3:2 in Budva and took revenge for the 3:0 defeat in Morača, a month earlier.
Bošković said that Budva was preparing a team for the European Cups and that they belong to the role of favorites.
"I still believe that we can provide a good volleyball game, in Herceg Novi we didn't show even ten percent of what we did and played in the league part. In the playoffs, we play on three won games and I think we have something to show in the final series ", said the coach of Buducnosti.
The first of at least three matches of the EPCG Superliga playoff final series will be played tomorrow at 18 p.m.
