Montenegrin judokas finished the first day of competition at the Games of Small European Countries with six medals - one gold, three silver and two bronze. After three victories, Nikola Gardašević won the gold medal in the category up to 81 kilograms.
In the final match, he defeated Marco Gnamien from Monaco by ippon.
Silver medals were won by Emil Sinanović (up to 66), Ivana Šunjević (up to 70) and Danilo Pantić (up to 100).
In the final, Sinanović was defeated by Cypriot Jorgos Bajrašvili, Šunjević lost to Florin Sula from Monaco, while Cypriot Jorgos Krusaniotakis was better than Pantić in the match for the gold.
Bronzes were won by Milana Stevanović (up to 52) and Tamara Gardašević (up to 63).
In the fight for third place, Stevanović was better than Icelander Veronika Komandera, and Gardašević was better than Lia Povedano from Andorra.
Danijel Furtula also won gold in the discus throw with a score of 62.79.
Darko Pešić was the last of the six competitors with a shot of 47.47.
