The Chess Federation of Montenegro is organizing the 16th Montenegrin Championship for young chess players from June 20 to 28 in Cetinje.
As stated, 170 young chess players from all parts of Montenegro have registered, who will compete in categories up to eight, ten, 12, 14, 16 and up to 18 years old.
The competition is played according to the Swiss system in nine rounds. If there are less than 10 participants in a group, that group will merge with the corresponding group of boys/girls.
The tempo of the game in groups up to 8,10, 12 and 45 years old is 15 minutes per game with a bonus of XNUMX seconds per player, in these groups writing moves is not mandatory.
In groups up to 14,16, 18 and 90 years, the pace of the game is 30 minutes per player with a bonus of XNUMX seconds, writing moves in these groups is mandatory until the end of the game.
Cups, medals, diplomas and chess books were provided for the best, and special gifts were provided by NLB Bank, the general sponsor of the tournament.
The final tournament gives access to the European and World Youth Championships.
