Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor faces accusations of sexual assault.
As reported by TMZ, he is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in the toilet of the "Kaseja Center" immediately after Game XNUMX of the NBA Finals in Miami.
Reuters adds that the woman in question sent a letter through her lawyer to McGregor, the NBA and the Miami Heat asking for a settlement instead of legal action.
"We are aware of the allegations and are conducting a full investigation," Miami said in a statement. "Pending the outcome of the investigation, we will not make further comments".
In the letter, she claims that security forced her way into the restroom where McGregor and his bodyguard were waiting. McGregor then allegedly "aggressively kissed" the woman while security kept everyone else away from the restroom.
"McGregor then forced her to perform oral sex, but the said woman elbowed him several times and managed to escape," says attorney Ariel Mitchell.
The alleged assault was reported to police in Florida on June 11.
McGregor's representatives told TMZ the allegations are false.
"Mr McGregor will not be intimidated," they added.
UFC officials told TMZ they are aware of the allegations.
"The UFC will wait until the legal process is complete before making any further statements," the statement said.
McGregor sat courtside at the aforementioned NBA Finals match against Denver and participated in a promotional part at halftime during which he punched the Heat mascot several times.
Barney, the Miami mascot, ended up in the hospital due to pain, USA Today reported earlier.
