The athletics team of Montenegro will participate in the European team championship - third group, which will be held from June 18 to 23 in Silesia, Poland, the Athletics Association announced.
Rivals of the Montenegrin competitors in the third group will be athletes from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Malta, Georgia, Armenia, Andorra, North Macedonia, San Marino, Albania, the Athletic Association of Small European Countries, Azerbaijan, Kosovo, Austria, Ireland and Israel.
The competition will be held in 20 disciplines, in women's and men's competition.
It is also the only representative competition in athletics where the results of all athletes in all disciplines in both competitions are added up.
The greatest success of Montenegrin athletes so far in team competitions is fifth place in Malta, five years ago and in Macedonia three years ago.
Montenegro will be represented in the men's competition by Ognjen Marsenić (100, 200 and 4x100), Darko Pešić (110, pole, distance, 4x100 and 4x400), Dragan Pešić (400, 400 breaststroke, high, 4x100 and 4x400), Danijel Furtula (discus, hammer), Tomaš Đurović (shot put), Amir Papazi (javelin), Željko Dabović (5000), Miljan Kukuličić (3000 steeplechase), Nemanja Đurišić (800, 1500), Matija Vojvodić (triple jump, 4x100) and Miloš Popović ( pole).
Reserves are Risto Drobnjak, Ivan Kukuličić and Nemanja Džaković.
In the women's competition, Marija Vuković (high jump), Kristina Rakočević (discus, shot put), Marija Bogavac (javelin), Ana Bošković (hammer), Slađana Pejović (5000, 800, 1500), Vesna Pavlićević (3000 steeple), Ljiljana Matović (distance, triple jump, 4×100), Anđela Drobnjak (100, 4 x 100), Mia Milašinović (400 hurdles, 200, 4 x100, 4x400), Anabela Mujovi (400, 4x100, 4x400) and Maša Bubanja (100 hurdles) .
Reserves are Irena Bošković, Vesna Kljajević and Mare Jablan.
They will be led by coach Osman Erović and coaches Drago Musić, Marko Ristić, Budimir Jestrović, Dragoje Rajković, Ivan Popović, Branislav Maslovarić and Sanja Đurnić.
The leader of the road will be the vice-president of the Athletics Federation, Igor Pešić, the team leader is the general secretary Milan Madžgalj and the coordinator for the sports sector Gojko Banjević.
