The Montenegrin athletics team ended its performance at the European team championship - third group in Silesia, as eighth place.
After 37 disciplines, Montenegrin athletes won 258 points, surpassing Albania by one point and Armenia by three.
They won points in 35 disciplines, and without them they remained in the pole vault in both competitions, a total of 258 points
Marija Vuković, who triumphed in the high jump, and Marija Bogavac, who finished third in the javelin throw, were the most deserving of the progress of the Montenegrin national team in the rankings of the last competition day.
Vuković achieved the only triumph for the Montenegrin team in Poland, and she achieved the triumph with a jump of 187 centimeters.
"The goal was the first place and the maximum number of points for Montenegro. In general, the first competition after the injury and rupture of the calf, so 187 centimeters is more than good. Especially, if you consider that I only trained for seven days, but I understood Yes, I can. A month without running and with a blocked calf leaves traces, so this time for 190 it was a bit lacking. There were good jumps, lack of speed, strength, attacks. I am satisfied," Vuković told the MINA agency.
She emphasized that qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris is the main goal.
"I would like to take a step further than in Tokyo, to achieve a good result. I just hope that my health serves me. If my body listens to me and I am healthy, I hope to jump after Paris as well," Vuković said.
Bogavac won third place in the javelin throw with a result of 45,15 meters.
"Honestly, I'm not satisfied with the result, but the most important are the points won for the national team. I'm back on the big stage after nine years, performing in Silesia is a great experience for me. When everything is taken into account, the third place is just fine," Bogavac said.
She emphasized that she was training alone in Bar and that during the competition you could see the shortcomings in the run and that not everything worked as it should.
"Preparations will follow in Novi Sad, I hope it will be better, that I will throw over 55 meters. That is the goal of this season," Bogavac said.
Dragan Pešić in the high jump (11) and Tomaš Đurović in the shot put (185) brought 18,21 points to the Montenegrin national team, winning fifth place. The best result of this season (5.47) of Ljiljana
Ljiljana Matović finished sixth in the long jump, Amir Papazi was seventh in the javelin throw (56,56), and the young Beran Ognjen Marsenić was ninth in the 200 meters (22,23).
Slađana Pejović finished tenth in the 1.500 meters (4:50,62) and Željko Dabović in the 5.000 meters (16:26,20), while Vesna Pavlićević took the 3.000th position in the 11 steeplechase, which is not her discipline. (14:12,17).
By winning 13th place, Maša Bubanja in the 200 meters race (26,68) and the mixed 4x400 relay (3.42,91) brought three points each to the Montenegrin national team.
Athletes from Ireland, Austria and Israel won the higher ranking from the competition in Silesia.
