The Ministry of Sports and Youth has begun disbursing the second part of financial resources for the implementation of regular annual programs of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee (COK), Paralympic Committee (POK) and national sports federations.
The Ministry reminded that 4,6 million euros were awarded in the competition for this year.
"It is a record amount of funds ever allocated for the implementation of sports federations' programs, that is, for domestic and international competitions, scholarships for athletes and payment of salaries to sports workers," the statement said.
As stated, the Minister of Sports and Youth, Vasilije Lalošević, pointed out that Montenegrin athletes are the best promoters of the country and that sport is the field that positions Montenegro at the very top on a global level.
"That is why the Ministry's priority is to provide athletes with all the necessary conditions for better quality work, all with the aim of achieving the best possible results at international competitions, but also involving as many citizens as possible in sports activities," Lalošević said.
He pointed out that the Ministry made a significant effort to provide record funds for the federation's programs for this year because Montenegrin athletes and sports workers absolutely deserve it.
Lalošević announced a new "wave" of investment in sports infrastructure, adding that the public will be informed about it quickly.
