From the south to the north of Montenegro, from the beach to the mountains - Žabljak will host the second tournament of the Montenegrin Taekbol League (MTL) on Sunday.
According to the organizers, the best men's doubles will compete in Durmitor Warriors Square.
The day before the tournament itself, as an announcement, there will be a promotion of table tennis, which will be played at the most famous locations in Žabljak. Also, as part of the "Tekball in Žabljak" project, this town will receive a TEQ table.
"In Žabljak, we proudly highlight active tourism as a special part of our offer," said the president of the Municipality of Žabljak, Radoš Žugić.
As he states, the natural wealth of Drumitor and its surroundings is ideal for sports - both professional and recreational.
"With the arrival of takball in our city, we got a new option for all sports fans, and we are especially happy that takball can easily fit into various environments. takball on the Black Lake could be a spectacular sight. We are extremely glad that our city is on the map of the Montenegrin Taekball League and that this particular tournament will further promote Žabljak as a tourist destination. We are also very pleased that a table for takball will remain in Žabljak, which will be a new point of our city's sports offer," added Žugić.
The premier edition of the new MTL season in Ulcinj belonged to the tandem formed just before the start of the league, the "Stroj Lob" team. Team member Željko Janković pointed out that he expects the second act of the season together with young Veljko Ljumović in a good atmosphere.
"After the first tournament in Ulcinj, on the sand, we are returning to normal conditions, on a hard surface. Veljko and I will play as a pair this time as well, and after winning the first tournament, we got a big wind at our backs, so, without being modest, expectations are high. "I think we are one of the main favorites for first place," Janković pointed out.
The champions of Montenegro in doubles, Marko Žarković and Andrija Jovanović, after participating in the European Games in Krakow, await the continuation of the championship with great confidence.
"Expectations for the next tournament in Žabljak are as always high. The 'Kurjaci' always go for winning the tournament and anything beyond that is a failure for us. Participation in the European Games in Krakow is a great experience for us. There is a visible improvement in our game and that's the basis for our high expectations before the season continues," Žarković is confident.
The organizers remind that the prize fund of the tournament is 1.000 euros, and all interested teams can register via the Teqball Montenegro Instagram page.
