The Ministry of Sports and Youth announced that at today's session the Government adopted the proposal of that department and Minister Vasilij Lalošević on the need to establish the Olympic House and build the Olympic Park.
"One of the main goals of the establishment of the Olympic House is the promotion of top sports results of our country, the most successful individuals in sports, Olympic values and culture in Montenegro," the announcement states.
As they say, the most important segment of the Olympic House will be the Olympic Museum, where the biggest sporting achievements of our country, prominent athletes and sports workers will be presented.
They add that Lalošević pointed out that athletes are the pride of Montenegro.
"We can certainly boast of excellent sports results, which is why the Olympic Museum will be a reminder of the most beautiful moments of Montenegrin sports that we will present to young generations, so that they have their role models and heroes in them, but also create a new sports and tourism offer for our guests that will enable them to get to know the sports history of Montenegro," said Lalošević.
He reminded that the International Olympic Committee, prominent European countries, and this region already have Olympic houses that have become symbols of national sports identity, attracting visitors who are interested in the sports culture of that country.
"I am convinced that our Olympic House will very quickly become one of the most recognizable stamps, bearing in mind the rich sports history and top sports results," added Lalošević.
In addition to the above, as written in the announcement, an important segment of the Olympic House will be the Olympic Academy, which will enable athletes, coaches and sports workers to train and improve in relation to important Soporte topics and disciplines.
"Through this, we want to contribute to the creation of competitive experts from our country," they state.
They also add that the Olympic Hub would be a gathering place for interested persons who want to produce ideas, develop innovative sports projects, cooperate with international organizations and network with other sports professionals. This is a place that would allow an open exchange of ideas and cooperation with the aim of developing the sports field in Montenegro," they point out in the announcement.
Also, as they stated, the Olympic Park would be built, which would enable the gathering of young generations to get to know each other and share experiences.
"It is important to note that the proposal is to build the Olympic House within the framework of the existing infrastructure that would be adapted, which would avoid spending significant financial resources. Also, the plan is for the Olympic House to be self-sustaining in the future. The Montenegrin Olympic Committee, the International Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Finance, the Capital City of Podgorica and the Administration for Cadastre and State Property will be responsible for the implementation of this project," they conclude in the announcement.
