French swimmer Leon Marchand won the gold medal today in the 200-meter dolphin race at the World Championships in Fukuoka. Maršan won with a result of 1:52,43 minutes. The silver medal was won by Krzysztof Khmelevskij with 1,19 seconds behind, and the bronze medal was won by local swimmer Tomoru Honda with 1,23 seconds behind.
In the 50-meter breaststroke event, Chinese swimmer Haiyan Qin won the gold medal with a time of 26,29 seconds.
American Nick Fink took second place, 0,30 seconds behind the winner, and Jiajun Sun from China was third, 0,50 seconds behind.
