Traditionally, on the last weekend of July, this year too - for the eighth time in a row, Durmitor will be a big sports center. The "Crown of Montenegro" triathlon, organized by the Tivat triathlon club, with the technical support of the Triathlon Association of Montenegro and the patronage of the Žabljak Tourist Organization, will welcome over 150 competitors from 10 countries.
The fascinating landscapes of Durmitor and the excellent organization attract every year an increasing number of competitors in extreme sports, such as the Olympic triathlon.
This year, it will start on Saturday, July 29, at 10 a.m., when the competitors will swim 1500 meters in the Devil's Lake, and after that they will ride a bicycle for 40 kilometers - around the Small Durmitor ring with an elevation of 650 meters, and then run 10 kilometers, or six circles around Devil's Lake.
In addition to the Olympic one, a Sprint triathlon is organized at the same time with swimming up to 750 meters, cycling 20 kilometers and running three laps around Vražje Jezera, i.e. five kilometers.
The organizer expects water temperatures from 19 to 23 degrees and air temperatures during the triathlon from 20 to 24 degrees.
