Berishaj a gold medal, Bećović a silver medal

Montenegrin taekwondo representative Anđela Berishaj won gold, while Zinedin Bećović won silver at the G class tournament Tallinn Open G1.

The member of Besa, in the semi-final fight of the category up to 73 kilograms, quickly defeated Finland's Sara Rintama.

She won the final without a fight, because her rival for the gold, Alema Hadžić from Germany, surrendered the match due to injury.

"The success of the young competitor gains significance if you bear in mind that Berishaj is still a junior, and she won first place in the senior competition," the Taekwondo Federation announced.

Zinedin Bećović, a member of Podgorica taekwondo club S3, also had a successful performance, who in the competition of seniors up to 68 kilograms, defeated the Latvian Davids Berzins, the Dane Joel Toft and Bek Kavtaradze from Georgia.

In the final, in an uncertain match, he was defeated by Vladimir Bostrov from Ukraine.

"In addition to medals, Berisaj and Bećović won precious points for the ranking list in Tallinn," the announcement reads.

It is stated that the Montenegrin taekwondo national team is already waiting for the BiH Open G1 tournament next weekend.
