The book on sports policies in the Western Balkans - "Sports Policy and Politics in the Western Balkans", authored by Marko Begović, is available on the website of the publishing house "Routledge".
The book presents an analysis of the relationship between sport and politics and the creation of sports policy. As one of the rare comparative analyzes of sports systems at the macro level and the first of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, it represents a significant addition to the international literature by providing a regional insight.
"The foreword was written by our sports legend Marija Jovanovic, while the critical review was given by Mirza Teletović, Razija Mujanović, Sonja Vasić and Mirza Džomba. However, this is not a final list, because during his own sports career and after, through intensive contacts with athletes and sports workers , I made sure that their thoughts and challenges were a kind of stamp on this book," said Begović, who used to play tennis.
From 2021 to 2022, the author served as acting director of the Administration for Sports and Youth in Montenegro.
