The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has suspended the Olympic Committee of Russia until further notice.

In a statement, the IOC stated that the inclusion of the Olympic Councils of the People's Republic of Donetsk and Luhansk, as well as the regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye in the Olympic Committee of Russia violates the Olympic Charter.

"The Russian Olympic Committee no longer has the right to perform the functions of the National Olympic Committee, as defined by the Olympic Charter, and cannot receive any funds from the IOC," the statement said.

"It is stated that the IOC, in accordance with the recommendations of March 23, reserves the right to decide on the participation of individual neutral athletes with a Russian passport at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Koritina," the announcement reads.
