The Montenegrin team celebrated its first triumph at the U22 European Championship in Budva.
The favorite of the local audience, Petar Liješević, fought for her, who was unanimously better in all three rounds of the fight with the Estonian Anton Vinogradov.
"I'm glad that after three years and the European Youth Champion title, I was boxing again in my city. The Estonian is unpleasant, not because of his class, but because of the way he reacts in the clinch, and I was afraid of getting hurt by a head blow. I reacted the way of the referee several times for that reason. Now I expect a sure victory in the quarter-finals with Taulanto Jakupi from Kosovo," Lijesević said.
From the start, he followed the advice of his coach and coach Nikola Ružić - entering after a left uppercut to the body and then exiting with a right hook. Vinogradov tried to find a way out in the clinch, but Liješević also won the world medal with great boxing at a short distance.
"I'm here, obviously well prepared and wait for me in 'Morača'," said Liješević confidently.
