Ugandan athlete Benjamin Kiplagat was found dead in Kenya, local police said, and local media reported that he had been killed.
Kiplagat was born in Kenya and is 34 years old, and competed internationally for Uganda, representing the country at the Olympics and World Championships in the 3.000m steeplechase.
His body was found in a car on Saturday evening near Eldoret town.
"An investigation is open and police are looking for leads," local police official Steven Okal told local media.
He also stated that Kiplagat's body had a wound on the neck suggesting that I stabbed her.
